After 17 years working in the fast-paced world of Investments, I made the decision to make a significant career and life change by becoming a counsellor.
Far removed though it may seem from the world of counselling, my work leading teams in the finance industry caused me to develop the skills needed to help people function optimally in a high-pressure environment. By focusing on the emotional and mental wellbeing of team members, I found I was able to keep them performing at their best, without succumbing to the burnout so often experienced in such environments.
The realisation that this aspect of my work was not only where my strengths lay, but was also the most rewarding, both personally and professionally, made the decision to transition into the world of counselling a natural one.
For the past 20 years I have worked and volunteered with a wide range of adults, adolescents and families in settings ranging from schools and charitable foundations, to youth counselling services and private practice.
With a Masters in Counselling and a special interest in counselling young people, I have extensive experience as a high school mental health facilitator, providing education on topics such as eating disorders, body image, self-esteem and managing stress during HSC.
Through face-to-face and phone counselling, as well as parenting courses and youth anxiety workshops, I provide a safe and therapeutic environment in which I can support you and your family members as you explore your life challenges.
By focusing on building your strengths, my approach to counselling will guide you on an empowering journey of self-discovery and self-awareness.

Face-to-face and phone counselling
Different counselling approaches suit different individuals and their unique situations. I practice Emotion-Focused Therapy, Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT, Mindfulness) and Narrative Therapy, which guide clients on an empowering journey of self-discovery and self-awareness.
Parenting & Youth Anxiety workshops
Workshops can provide a valuable experience for both adults and young people. I specialise in the facilitation of ‘Cool Kids’ courses to help children, teens and parents better manage a child’s anxiety, and ‘Tuning into teens’ courses to help parents build stronger relationships with their teenagers.
Adolescents, adults and parents
I have over 20 years’ counselling experience working and volunteering with adolescents, adults and parents in a variety of settings from schools to private practice, helping them to manage a range of issues arising from anxiety, major life changes, childhood traumas, domestic violence, depression, grief and loss.
